Enrollment for the Winter 2026 semester at Academy of Hope is now open. We are currently accepting new applications for this term.

Please note that our Medical Billing & Coding and Project Management programs will not be offered during the Winter 2026 semester.

Academy of Hope Offers

Academic Programs

Small classes focused on basic reading, writing, and math skills.

Classes in social studies, science, math and writing focus on developing critical thinking skills and content knowledge needed to pass the GED exam and earn a high school diploma. Learn more.

Learners demonstrate reading, writing, math, and workforce readiness skills in life and work contexts. Designed for self-directed adults with some familiarity with computers. Graduates earn a local high school diploma. Learn more.

Workforce Programs

The Certified Nurse Aide Training program offered by AoH spans 5 months and consists of 200 hours of combined classroom instruction and practical lab sessions.

AoH’s Phlebotomy Technician Training (PTT) program is a 5-month course with 200 hours of classroom instruction and lab practice. It equips students with the skills to perform blood-drawing procedures, patient care, and equipment maintenance under the guidance of a licensed instructor.

This class introduces learners to basic IT knowledge such as the fundamentals of computing networks, operating systems, hardware, security, software development and database concepts and prepares learners for the Tech+ certification exam.

This is an intensive 10-month session broken into two (2) five month “Core” sections focusing on hardware, cloud computing, networking technology, operating systems, security, software troubleshooting, and operational procedures.

This is your gateway to a cybersecurity career.  Security+ is the must have certification for those entering information security.

Workforce Digital Literacy (Virtual)

Daytime Class at Ward 5 and Ward 8 (11:00am-12:30pm, Monday-Thursday)

This Program equips learners with the skills to accurately code medical diagnoses, procedures, and services, ensuring proper reimbursement and compliance with healthcare regulations.

Application Process & Enrollment Requirements

Enrollment Steps

  1. The Enrollment Team will contact you via email or phone with further instructions.
  2. Enrollment can be completed online or in person.
  3. All applicants must take the CASAS test as a mandatory requirement for ALL programs.

Proof of DC Residency Requirement

During the enrollment process, all students must provide proof of a DC home address. The following documents are accepted:

✅ A valid State ID or Driver’s License is required with all documents

✅One of the following proof of residency documents:

  • Official documentation of financial assistance from the DC government (TANF, Medicaid, SNAP, etc.)
  • SSI Benefit Verification Letter
  • Military verification letter, including military orders or a DEERS statement
  • Embassy letter with an official embassy seal indicating embassy-sponsored housing in DC
  • Unexpired DC motor vehicle documents, including:
    • DC driver’s license, permit, or official non-driver ID
    • DC vehicle registration
  • A valid State ID or Driver’s License, plus one of the following:
    • Unexpired lease with proof of rent payment within the last 2 months. (Housing Assistance is accepted.)
    • Utility bill (gas, water, or electricity only) with proof of payment within the last 2 months
    • Two recent pay stubs (dated within 45 days of registration) showing DC tax withholding
