At Academy of Hope (AoH), we know that learning doesn’t stop at the classroom door—it’s a launchpad. This summer, our Academy of Hope Tech learners reached an incredible milestone: after completing 15 weeks of intensive cybersecurity training in partnership with PeopleShores and Per Scholas, they stepped into the next phase of their journeys—real-world client projects with Accenture.
A Bridge Between Training and the Workplace
To help apprentices prepare for this exciting leap, AoH partnered with Accenture to host a three-day Accenture Apprentice School. The goal was simple but powerful: bridge the gap between classroom learning and the realities of workplace culture.
Across those three days, apprentices explored:
- Accenture’s core values and leadership essentials
- Practical skills like Outlook, Teams, and Excel
- Creative approaches including design thinking, data visualization, and storytelling
- Strategies for clear and effective communication in professional settings
And because confidence matters as much as knowledge, we even kicked off the sessions with “Power Poses”—Wonder Woman stances and all. Nothing says “BRING IT ON!” quite like a classroom filled with energy, laughter, and thoughtful questions.
Real-World Problems, Real-World Impact
By the end of the summer, our apprentices were ready to apply their new skills directly to client projects with Accenture—tackling real challenges with curiosity, collaboration, and fresh perspectives. These projects aren’t just about technical tasks; they’re about building confidence, growing as leaders, and shaping pathways to meaningful careers in technology.
Celebrating Our Apprentices
We are so proud of this group. Their dedication, resilience, and eagerness to support one another shine through every step of the way. This summer, they showed us what’s possible when adult learners are given the training, support, and opportunities they deserve.
Special thanks to Kai Wei Hsu and Deborah Ringel of Accenture for recognizing the potential of our learners to make a lasting impact on both commerce and community.
