GED High School Diploma Program

Program

A high school diploma is essential for unlocking career and education opportunities.

Academy of Hope helps students ages 18+ earn a high school diploma by preparing them for the GED (General Education Development) exam. The GED exam consists of four subject tests in social studies, math, science, and reading. Students in the program work with a teacher in class or online to develop their critical thinking skills and knowledge in all four subject areas. Each subject test can be taken at a certified testing center when the student is ready. The student can take one subject test at a time, as many times as needed.

What is a GED?

A GED stands for General Educational Development (or sometimes General Education Diploma).

It’s a group of four subject tests that, when passed, show that you have high school–level academic skills. Basically, earning a GED is an alternative to finishing a traditional high school diploma.

The GED covers:

  • Math
  • Language Arts (Reading & Writing)
  • Science
  • Social Studies

If you pass all the tests, you earn a credential that most employers, colleges, and universities in the U.S. and Canada recognize as equivalent to a high school diploma.
