This September, Academy of Hope celebrates Adult Education and Family Literacy Week.
Adult Education and Family Literacy Week is a national celebration aimed at raising public awareness about the need for and value of adult education and family literacy. Typically held in late September, AEFL Week highlights the role that adult education plays in helping individuals achieve economic mobility, educational equity, and personal empowerment.
Key Themes:
Economic Growth: AEFL Week emphasizes how improving adult literacy and education contributes to workforce development and strengthens local economies.
Equity and Inclusion: Adult education promotes opportunities for individuals from underserved communities, enhancing their access to better jobs, higher wages, and social mobility.
Community Impact: AEFL Week brings attention to how family literacy programs help break the cycle of poverty by empowering both adults and their children through education.
During this week, organizations like the Academy of Hope engage in community outreach, advocacy, and events to showcase success stories and reinforce the critical need for investment in adult education programs.
